2 night wilderness camping optional Extension By adding this extension on you allow yourself the unique opportunity of wilderness camping on the islands of the OKavango Delta - you can camp wild for as long as you want - Ask us.

Begin your wilderness experience as you leave camp by Mokoro (traditional canoe)being gently poled through lily and reed lined waterways, stopping for a guided walk where you may enjoy sightings of the larger carnivores, plains game, elephant, buffalo, and perhaps the endangered wild dog. Birders observations have included 250 species of bird, including the rare Pels Fishing Owl and endangered Wattled Crane. Camping options are flexible and limited only to your sense of adventure. You may combine any number of days and nights in the wilderness , or as a reward after roughing it in the wilderness, you may consider a combination package to include a luxury Camp with which to begin or end your wildeness camping. All of your camping equipement and food will be provided for you. In the presence of your poler/guide, you will explore the area in a mokoro (dugout canoe) - silently pushing through the winding channels, also on foot, walking with your guide. You may encounter game at a close range uninterrupted by vehicles; this is a unique way to observe game.

The Okavango Delta is Botswana's most famous and popular tourist attraction. This unique wetland system formed by the Okavango River runs through the middle of the Kalahari Desert. The Okavango Delta is one of the largest inland deltas in the world. The Okavango Delta has wildlife, which includes predators, antelope, birds and fish. Palm tree islets, savannah grasslands and forest glades surrounded by the winding waterways that snake through the Okavango Delta. Great herds of antelopes, Buffalo and Elephants roam through the pastures, as well as Lions and Leopards. The Okavango Delta's plants includes the Delta palm tree in the perennial swamps, reeds and papyrus, and the waters provide a feeding and living heaven for Fish Eagles,Kingfishers, Hippopotami, Crocodiles and Tiger fish. Activities generally conducted in mokoros, traditional dugout canoes are a great way to see the Okavango Delta. You can also see the Delta on horseback or Elephant back.
